As a history buff, member of the local Historical Society, and former owner of an historical site - a tavern founded circa 1890 - delving into dusty records is one of my favorite pasttimes. I've helped research an international corporation's first 100 years for their centennial biography, unearthed data and prepared the paperwork to put a site on the National Historic Register, and battled bureaucracy to win historic district designation.
